This is a new one for me, an RDTA. An RDTA is basically a squonkable RDA sitting atop an RTA, ish. If you haven't got a clue what these acronyms mean, then take a look at the bottom of the page where I explain further! Anyhow, I've used plenty of "drippers" and several tanks, but I've never thought about using an RDTA before as I don't see the point. Have I been missing a trick though? Only one way to find out.

Aside from the main product image above, all other photos will be at the bottom of the review to keep it clean, clear and quicker to read. My opinion of course and I'm not going to bore you with every little detail about the box and contents etc. It's got all of what you would expect! What you really want to know is the basics and how it performs, right? Of course you do, so here we go.
Well, building on the deck is super easy here with a post-less design and generous wick holes making inserting your coils and cotton a breeze. I had the Pyro V2 (from here on in mentioned as just the Pyro) built and ready in just a few minutes. Super, duper. With the deck complete, I put the Pyro together and filled the tank up with a Salted Caramel Custard. Yum. Let's take it for a toot.
I put the Pyro on top of my Desire Design Cut Squonk Mod to see whether an RDTA is something actually useful or a hindrance. It quickly became apparent that the Pyro is very good, very good indeed. The flavour from this RDTA is superb, giving a far better level of flavour than a standard stock coil tank and it even beat my trusty old Dog3 V3 RDA (or DOGE as it's often mispronounced). Is it as good as the latest new RDA's like the Pulse or the Drop etc? I doubt that very much but I don't have either of those anyhow. As an RDTA though, it gets a huge thumbs up from me.
On the RDTA side of things, I was expecting this to be pointless to be honest. I mean, if I wanted a tank then surely I would get an RTA, or a squonk capable RDA if I wanted to go down that road? Probably all true, but during the 2 weeks that I've now been using the Pyro, I've found it not only works, but it works very well indeed. I basically can carry about 10ml of juice on the Mod at any one time, 7ml in the squonk bottle and a further 2ml or 4ml (depending whether it's the TPD version or not) in the tank section.
The squonk action works flawlessly, pushing the juice easily into the tank from the nice and soft bottle below, keeping the little tank filled. I found myself getting a strange satisfaction watching the flow of juice, weird huh? I tried the Pyro dual coil and single coil and I did prefer dual personally. The flavour is spot on. The air flow is super smooth and the top adjustment is really easy to operate.
All in all, Vandy Vape have created a fantastic RDTA with the Pyro V2 and I for one am a convert!
